Immigration
Immigration is an issue best resolved at the Federal level. A series of State-wide measures will only confuse the issue. Our Chambers do not support illegal workers. We believe a series of measures to address the problem must be passed at the Federal level:
-
Secure the border.
-
Support a new temporary worker program that reflects the demand for workers in our economy.
-
Support a fast and reliable electronic employment verification system.
-
Support a realistic path to earned legalization of workers to address the 12-million undocumented workers.
Our regional economy is broad and diverse. It is reflective of the American economy as a whole. Our Chambers represent all aspects of the regional economy. From Healthcare to Higher Education - from Automotive to Advanced Manufacturing - from the Mom & Pop store to the S&P 500, we have many important resources in our community that we ask you to recognize and to protect.
