The impact of the new health care legislation is still being determined. Regardless of the positives or negative aspects of the legislation, we believe more work needs to be done to control costs. Our recommendations include the following suggestions:

• Support tort reform
• Support streamlined electronic health records
• Support employer-provided wellness programs
• Support community sponsored wellness programs
• Oppose excise tax on orthopedic and other medical devices, an important industry in our region
